Cayman’s Best… Sports Bars
If you’re looking for the best places to watch the game, good food and cold drinks, then look no further than this list! This collection of lively pubs and casual bars are #CaymansBest spots to catch football (soccer), rugby, NFL and more while being in a fun atmosphere with our signature island vibe.
Fidel Murphy’s is one of Grand Cayman’s most reliable spots for watching sporting events from NFL and Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) to formula one racing. They are particularly known well attended for Premier League football (soccer) and rugby including the 6 Nations matches. They open at 8am everyday (one of the earliest of any sports), but will open earlier if there is an early kick off with a premiership football match and they have sound on for the most important game of the hour. Note that they have a spare TV, so if there is sporting event requested by a customer they will show it on that on as they are able. It is vital that you get there early if you plan to watch weekend sports because they do not do reservations. Even with this clause in place they always seem to fill up with standing room only on big game days.
Make note that Fidel’s is already on my Cayman’s Best Breakfast list as well, so you should definitely order a bite in the morning from their Full Fidel’s (a loaded breakfast fry-up) to their Chocolate Pancakes and Mac Biscuit.
Fidel’s is more than just a sports bar. Alongside live sports, the pub hosts regular theme nights, including trivia and karaoke, as well as live music and special events throughout the week. They are also the best place to visit for a St Paddy’s Day celebration. Pair the game with a pint of Guinness (one of the only places on island you can get the real deal) or a hearty pub classic, and it’s easy to see why Fidel Murphy’s remains a staple for both sports fans and social nights out.

Legendz is one of Grand Cayman’s most established and well-known sports bars, especially when it comes to NFL Sundays, major tournaments and big international games. With TVs scattered throughout the venue, there’s never a bad seat in the bar area. Note that the atmosphere ramps up quickly whenever an important match is on, so we recommend getting their early.
Beyond sports, Legendz is popular for its happy hour deals, an expansive menu and buzzing crowd that brings tourists and residents together. Expect burgers, wings, and comfort food that pairs perfectly with cold beers and game-day drinks, but they also are known for featuring international cuisine from Mexican and Italian to Indian.

Lloyd’s Smokehouse & Grill
While Lloyd’s is best known for its barbecue, it’s also a solid spot to catch major sporting events in their intimate, indoor section dubbed ‘The Brickyard’ for its bar seating and brick-covered walls. They have a large screens in every corner, and for big matchups they bring out the projector and big screen. They tend to host the classic sports - American football, hockey, football (soccer) - but I’ve also seen them show F1, darts and bowling too! They have a more relaxed crowd, which makes it more comfortable to watch a game even if you’re not a diehard fan.
What sets Lloyd’s apart is their smokehouse and barbecue menu. They serve a selection of meats - spare ribs, brisket, sausage and chicken - where you can add on hearty sides to build your own platter. Take advantage of their weekend breakfast menu that features Southern classics like Chicken & Waffles or Brisket Hash, a weekday happy hour with bar snacks and specials on all alcoholic beverages and daily theme nights with my personal favourite being ‘Crispy Pork Belly’ Sundays, Beer & Burger’ Mondays and ‘Giant Oxtail’ Wednesdays. Add it all together and Lloyd’s becomes an easy choice for game nights that revolve around both food and sport.
Salty’s is a go-to for watching sports in a laid-back, indoor setting in the Grand Harbour area. It is known for its extensive TV setup, making it easy to watch multiple games at once and settling in with friends. They feature all sports, but English football (soccer) draws out their biggest crowd. They will always have sound on for the English Premier League, Champions League, Six Nations and any major rugby games. They open at 9am on the weekend for breakfast, but will open at 8am if there is a big game on. When it’s NFL season they will also have sound on for the Monday and Thursday night games, but on Sundays the Miami Dolphins game always takes precedent because there are so many local fans. Since they have theme nights during the week, like Monda Trivia, $1 Wings Wednesday and Thursday Steak Night they also draw in a non-sports crowd, so music tends to be playing unless it is a major playoffs game for the NBA or NHL. Lastly, they are a self-proclaimed Chicago Cubs bar for any baseball fans and they feature a Chicago Dog food special during every game too! They are a large space and normally take reservations, but when it comes to matches like the World Cup Final and the Super Bowl, seats are on a first come first served basis.
Since Salty’s is in my neighbourhood this is a regular spot for me to visit and I am very familiar with their menu. It’s massive and features classic sports bar items like burgers, nachos, pizzas and incredible wings, but they also have wraps and salads if you want something lighter. With indoor and outdoor seating (including seats at their small bar called Mike’s) and a relaxed vibe, Salty’s works just as well for casual viewing as it does for bigger matchups.
The Bird offers a high-energy, social take on the sports bar experience along the Seven Mile Strip. With a handful of screens situated around the bar they are happy to feature any sport that will have a big turnout. Their customers can be quite niche as the owners are Canadian and South African, so you can expect to see bigger turnouts for South African Springbok rugby matches, Toronto Blue Jays baseball, Golf Majors and the NFL especially because of their fantasy football league. Note that sound may not always be on depending on if the crowd is there for the sports or just for one of their famous Chick Sandy. If it’s a big game with a solid turnout they will open earlier in the mornings on the weekend, so follow along on social media for notifications and reserve your table.
Beyond sports, The Bird is known for its party-friendly vibe, making it a great place to watch the game and keep the night going afterward. It’s less about quiet viewing and more about enjoying the buzz — perfect if you like your sports with a side of nightlife.
The Roost is ideal if you’re looking for a more relaxed, outdoor setting to watch the game. It is located at Pickleball Cayman which is home to 20 courts and a playground, so it has a mixed crowd. They have a selection of big screens, open-air seating and an easygoing atmosphere, making it a great alternative to packed indoor sports bars. Because of their mixed customer base sound is not usually on, but you can request a game or match to be turned on to a TV near you. You’ll see an eclectic range of games from pickleball, cricket, basketball, NFL and Premier League football (soccer).
It’s especially popular for afternoon matches, casual viewing and social meetups, where the focus is just as much on good company as it is on the game. They are the sister restaurant of The Bird, so you can expect their Chick Sandy and wings, but some other unique items are their Oxtail Wontons and Pepper Shrimp. Since they have ‘athletes’ coming off the courts, they do have a healthier options including salads, sandwiches and hot plates. At The Roost, the drinks flow easily, their staff is energetic and the vibe remains effortlessly island-style when you’re watching sports.
Grand Cayman’s sports bar scene has something for everyone—from high-energy game days to relaxed outdoor viewing. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking for a fun place to watch the match, these spots are worth adding to your list.
