Macabuca

Macabuca is a self-proclaimed “waterfront tiki bar” located at the most northwestern point of Grand Cayman. Located on a large cement deck that extends into the sea means there are unobstructed views of the sunset on a daily basis. Their relaxed vibe is due to its open-air setup, lively staff and a regular flow of shore divers and snorkellers heading into the water. Their menu is filled with satiating American plates, including salads, sandwiches and burgers (some that even made it onto my Cayman’s Best Burgers list!), but they also feature popular Caribbean dishes like cracked conch, jerk chicken and fish rundown. They offer daily happy hour specials and host weekly food specials, such as their all-you-an-eat Monday BBQ and an a la carte brunch menu option on Sundays. An added bonus is that they are dog friendly and will bring your pup a bucket of ice cold water and have homemade Scooby Snacks at the bar made by bartender Todd Shipster of Shipster’s Biltong. This gem of a restaurant has so much to offer and is loved by both tourists and locals, so don’t miss it when you’re visiting West Bay.
