1. Experience the Island’s Best Tasting Menus
Grand Cayman is considered the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean, so food connoisseurs can excite that there are a handful of fine dining restaurants offering tasting menus. The most elaborate location for a tasting menu is Blue by Eric Ripert at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman. It is the sister restaurant of Chef Eric Ripert’s restaurant, Le Bernardin, in New York City which has been consistently voted as a top restaurant in the world for the past four decades. In 2024, Blue was voted as the #1 restaurant in the Caribbean and noted as the Caribbean’s first and only Forbe’s Travel Guide Five Star Restaurant. Here, you can savour your choice of world-class tasting menus featuring only the best quality seafood that’s complemented by hand-selected wines by their sommelier.
Alternatively, you can choose between Mario’s and Avecita. Mario’s in The Grove offers a 5-course blind tasting menu that changes daily. They opened in 2023, but Mario’s won big in the 2024 Best of Cayman Islands awards, including gold medals in the categories of ‘Chef’, ‘Fine Dining Restaurant’, ‘New Restaurant’, ‘Special Occasion Restaurant’ and ‘Wine Bar’. As a new restaurant in Cayman’s bustling food & beverage industry, the team at Mario’s have clearly impressed many.
The Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa has a 3-in-1 restaurant concept on the property, but you’ll want to choose the ‘Chef’s Counter’ option in Avecita. Limited to just 10 seats, the counter faces into a show kitchen in the main restaurant where guests can watch the action as there meal is prepared and plated. This blind tasting menu has whimsical plating, bold flavours and the option to pair wine at an additional cost.

2. Take Time to Unwind at the Spa
Grand Cayman is home to some of the most luxurious spas in the Caribbean. Whether you’re looking for a traditional massage, a customised facial or a full-day of pampering, the island offers top-tier options.
One of the most lavish choices is The Spa at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman. The spa’s tranquil ambiance will make you feel at relaxed immediately, and you’re able to use the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi in gender separate sanctuaries. Using products and technologies by 111Skin and ESPA, guests can expect to leave with visible results.
For a holistic experience that targets the body and mind, head to The Spa at the Kimpton Seafire. This carefully designed space uses natural materials that are said to have healing properties. It’s an oasis designed to provide a wellness experience that integrates both relaxation and rejuvenation, with a multitude of spaces available to use prior to your treatments, including steam rooms and saunas in each gender’s sanctuary. The two co-ed spaces that you can utilise, include the heated Vitality Pool with natural sunlight and a waterfall feature, and the Relaxation Room, where each chair has its own nook to promote stillness and peace.

3. Get a Bird’s Eye View in a Helicopter
For a standout adventure, book yourself a tour with Cayman Islands Helicopters. You’ll get a bird’s-eye view of the islands’ pristine beaches, coral reefs and lush landscapes. For sightseeing, you should book tours that fly over Seven Mile Beach, Stingray City or even the entire Island. For those who want to go the extra mile, you need to book a romantic Sunset Flight that will drop you to a dinner destination or opt for a day trip to Little Cayman and Cayman Brac to scuba dive and dine at both destinations in the same day! It’s an exhilarating way to take in the beauty of the Cayman Islands from a viewpoint that limited people have seen.

4. Hop on a Boat for a Memorable Day at Sea
There’s no better way to explore the turquoise waters of Grand Cayman than by chartering a private boat. Whether you prefer a relaxing day of snorkeling and sunbathing, a sunset cruise or deep-sea fishing, there are plenty of options to cater to your desires.
Chartering a private yacht or motorboat gives you access to the island’s stunning coral reefs and peaceful beaches. There are many companies to choose from, but it’s vital that I inform you of some incredible Caymanian owned companies. These companies know the island exceptionally well and provide that authentic Caymankind hospitality. Firstly, there’s Captain Marvin’s, the oldest charter company on island, that not only pioneered snorkelling trips to Stingray City, but are known for their experience in hosting fishing charters too. Island Splash has a handful of boats, but they offer a variety of tours. I’m particularly impressed that one of them comes with a jet ski for guests to use and when it’s conch season they’ll make a fresh marinated version on board for you. Note that you can elevate any private charter by having a private chef onboard or a buffet stocked with chef prepared items while to enjoy while you cruise. Whether it’s a half-day or full-day excursion, a private boat charter guarantees an unforgettable day at sea.
A special shoutout has to go to Red Sail Sports, the largest watersport company on island. You can’t miss their red t-shirts on the beach at major hotels as they offer jet skis, parasailing flights and banana boat rides, but they also have a fleet of 65ft catamarans. These stunning sailboats standout on island when they cross the sunset on Seven Mile Beach or gracefully sail across the North Sound. If you don’t mind sharing a larger boat with others, then this is a phenomenal choice too as you’ll hear the waves crashing underneath you and the sails whipping in the wind.

5. Hire a Private Chef for an Exclusive Dining Experience
One of the ultimate luxury experiences in Grand Cayman is to let the restaurant come to you! Hire a private chef to prepare an exquisite meal in the comfort of your villa, beachfront property or boat. Many of the island's top chefs offer customised services, where they can tailor menus to your personal tastes and dietary preferences, all while using the highest quality ingredients. Several catering companies that I’d recommend include Chef On Call by Chef Thomas Tennant, Chef Maureen “Mo” Cubbon of Best Life Culinary and Chef Remy Azavedo of Rent-A-Chef. They are all loved for their differing styles and intricate specialties, but each of them will offer personalised experiences that range from casual beach BBQs and family-style brunches to elaborate multi-coursed feasts.
Grand Cayman isn’t just about beautiful beaches and warm weather—it's a destination that offers some of the best luxury experiences in the Caribbean. Whether you’re savouring exquisite cuisine, pampering yourself at a world-class spa, soaring above the island in a helicopter, or cruising on a motorboat, these one-of-a-kind activities will make your trip unforgettable. Grand Cayman offers the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, so treat yourself to a world of luxury on your next visit to the island.
